Bootie Slippers

My sister is a nut for slippers.  I'm not sure exactly how many pairs she has but I know she has them at work, at home, at my mom's.....  Her birthday is tomorrow so I thought I'd make her a pair of these bootie-type slippers to keep her feet warm while lounging.

I used my 32 peg Knitting Board loom and premier yarn "parfait flavors" chenille type yarn.   Leaving a long tail (to sew the heel together at the end) E-wrap cast-on and knit in the round for 2 rows.

On row three, rather than knit in the round, knit for a flat panel. Do this for about 15 rows.  This makes the opening for your foot.

On row 17, go back to knitting in the round for 20 more rows.

When you reach the desired length, use the "gather" bind-off.

Pull your tail until the toe of the bootie has closed.  Fasten the yarn and weave in the ends.

For the heel of the bootie, use the long beginning string and stitch the two ends together.  Fasten the yarn and weave in the ends.

And the finished project.

These booties are extremely soft and fuzzy.  I hope my sis likes them!
